Idealized Stomach, Gall Bladder, Pancreas
This piece is part of a group of models that were featured in a portal vein drainage animation. The stomach was created using the 3d modeling system known as NURBS which involved connecting cross-sectional curves into a continuous surface. A series of cross-sectional curves were united with a continuous surface. The pancreas was made by fitting two silhouette shapes together to make a 3D object. The gall bladder was done using modeling tools called clay splines. The models were derived from a seriesof sketches drawn from anatomy and surgery textbooks.
